The pension fund of IBM in the Netherlands carries out both a collective pension plan and an individual one. For the collective plan a framwork was developed with investment solutions adviser Cardano to deliver on the ambition to raise pensions with the inflation rate.For the individual plans the pension fund provides insight to its members whether or not they are on track with their pensions in connection with their future purchasing power.

Mr. Klerkx explains that inflation risk can be managed through the investment strategy of a pension fund. It must define certain objectives and construct a portfolio according to these objectives.
